Nevada Athletic Commission doesn’t take into account role of steroids in enhancement of performance, if they are used during trainings

Chael Sonnen is allowed to use anabolic steroids. The physician Timothy Trainor claimed that this sportsman really suffered from hypogonadism.
What does this condition represent? Hypogonadism is connected with insufficient testosterone secretion. Physicians commonly recommend hormone replacement therapy in order to cure this condition.
This fighter has received a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). So, this athlete is allowed to utilize steroids for medical purposes and fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to recommendations of Chael Sonnen’s health care provider, he should be injected with Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice a week. The quantities which are indicated have not been discussed. But under establishments of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in Chael Sonnen should be within normal range on the morning after the fight against Silva.
According to the doctor Trainor, those that compete with TUE should be tested on the morning after the match to define whether they have utilized something right before the competition.
The doctor Trainor thinks that testosterone causes performance-enhancing effects, if it is administered right before the fight. He claims that injections must not be applied in the days before a fight to prevent enhanced testosterone levels.
But it seems that the NAC is not aware that steroids cause benefits related to enhancement of performance, not only if they are used right before competitions. Usage of steroids influences essentially on performance during trainings before competitions. And the benefits remain even after athletes stop taking them.
Sonnen had increased levels of testosterone at UFC 117. He noted that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  He appealed his suspension and it was lowered to 6 months from one year. But he didn’t have any TUE that time.
